Abstract

This study aims to determine the catch on mini purse seine fishing gear using mercury lamps in Waters of Waworada Bay, Bima Regency. This research has been carried out for 3 months starting from March-May 2021 in the waters of Waworada Bay, Langgudu District, Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods, namely analyzing data that can be nominated by using numbers and presented in the form of information. The data analysis in this study used the t-student test to determine the difference in the number of catches from the two fishing gears. From the results of the study for 16 replicate trips, it was found that the weight of the catch was 16 times, on the mini purse seine catcher in treatment A with a power of 300 watts, namely the catch amounted to 11,731 kg, while in treatment B the power of a 250 watt lamp was 9,925 kg. The results of the student t-test show that tcount = 2,147 > ttable = 2,131 because tcount > ttable then Ho is accepted and it means that there is a significant difference in the light intensity of 300 watts and 250 watts.
