Abstract
This research aims to determine the effect of implementing learning using the role playing method on students' speaking skills in Indonesian language lesson content. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (PTK). This research applies planning, learning and evaluation activities until learning results are known. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation, interviews and tests. The subjects in this research were class V of SDN Kiyaran 2 for the 2023/2024 academic year. The research results show that the application of the role playing method has a positive impact on students' speaking skills. This is shown by the increase in the value of students' speaking skills in the initial condition of 59.71, increasing in cycle I to 70.14 and in cycle II it increased to 81.86. Apart from influencing speaking skills, the application of the role playing method also influences student learning outcomes. This can be seen from the average value in the initial condition of 60.71, increasing in cycle I to 79.29 and in cycle II to 87.43.
