Abstract
The aim of this research is to evaluate the SAS approach to improving reading proficiency in grades three to four at SD Negeri Kecil Karangasem. This research uses a qualitative methodology, with a focus on the use of SAS techniques to improve reading comprehension among third and fourth grade Indonesian language learners at SD Negeri Keci Karangasem. This research starts from the idea that many children are less involved and motivated to read because of their low reading ability. The observation and interview findings in this research show how much the students' reading ability has increased. It can be concluded that learning Indonesian using the SAS method can run well even though it is not completely optimal because its implementation is shown by a positive response to a fun learning strategy that makes everyone feel involved in the enthusiasm for learning. Therefore, it can be said that children in grades 3–4 of SD Negeri Kecil Karangasem can benefit from the SAS technique both in terms of reading comprehension and overall completion.Keywords: Disleksia, struktural analitik sintetik (SAS)
